Blank Check was written by Blake Snyder who literally wrote the book on screenwriting, so you’d think it would be a better movie, but it’s not. It’s completely and utterly bananas and even.

Man: Are you all booked that night?
Hotel Clerk: Well, we have one suite available, complete with a kitchenette and a sauna bath. And the view of the city is great, too.
Man: How much is that?
Hotel Clerk: It’s only $200 dollars, plus a 10% room tax.
Man: Oh, that’s a little too expensive for me. Do you have a cheaper room available either on the 20th or the 22nd?
Hotel Clerk: Well, would you like a smoking or a non-smoking room?
Man: Non-smoking, please.

You can do Bard 6/Lyric Thaumaturge 5/Sublime Chord 9 (or Sublime Chord 2/Whatever X), but you only get one 9th level spell slot.Meh. The main problem with Lyric Thaumaturge is Sonic Might doesn't kick in until level 5, and do to the skill prereqs you can't get in until ECL 7. The bard's not really a blaster, even with that. But getting all the feats shoehorned into it without resorting to book-hurling levels of cheese got to be a bit too complicated. Sublime chord handbook.
Hotel Clerk: Okay, Mr. Maexner, we look forward to seeing you on March 20th.
Man: Okay. Goodbye.

As a scriptwriter you can never read too many scripts. Think of reading scripts as your study time, with your scriptwriting as your actual work. The more film scripts you read the better the influences you can draw on.
Here I’ve tried to pluck a script from every genre of film. If you are writing a script on a specific genre, it’s helpful to read through other scripts in that genre to see how the story was structured and how the characters were bought to life.
All these sample scripts are for educational purposes only and not to be resold. Check out the sample film scripts bellow…
